## Product overview

FlowDown AI is a privacy-first native AI workspace for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It supports OpenAI-compatible cloud providers, local MLX models, Apple Intelligence workflows, MCP client integration, web search, attachments, memory, and Apple Shortcuts automation.
Conversation data is stored locally by default, with optional iCloud sync controlled by the user.
The app is open source under AGPL-3.0.

## Auth and API model

Public discovery files are readable without authentication.
FlowDown is a client app, and user conversation data lives inside the installed app.
Provider API keys are user-supplied inside FlowDown model profiles.
MCP credentials are user-supplied headers stored by the app.
iCloud sync uses the user-selected Apple iCloud account through CloudKit.
Hosted user-data API: unavailable.
